Troop promotion and healing: costs, capacity and recovery

How to read troop promotion and healing previews, plan batches and avoid counting the same cost twice.

The short answer

Check the promotion destination or healing group, actual capacity, resources and duration in the game preview. New training, promotion and healing are different actions. Do not reuse a new-training price or apply an account bonus twice.

Promotion is not another new-training purchase

Promotion starts with soldiers you already have and a destination tier that must be eligible. Read the actual source and destination in the promotion preview. The new-training table does not establish the difference as the exact promotion price.

For event preparation, check whether the active rule counts promoted troops and how. A tier-10 training row does not prove that promoting one soldier produces the same points as training one new tier-10 soldier.

Check the recovery situation before another fight

Review injured versus lost troops in the report and the actual Ward Tent capacity. Capacity, resources and healing time are different limits. Having enough food does not answer whether the next battle’s injuries can be handled.

Gold Mine Conquest has a recorded no-death, automatic-after-battle injury recovery rule. Ordinary PvP does not inherit that exception. Read the active mode before treating another march as loss-free.

Use a comparable preview to estimate a larger batch

For a reliable local estimate, use the same action, troop tier and bonus state. Record count, resources and displayed time. A mixed troop group can hide different unit costs, and an abbreviated quantity is not an exact integer.

If the displayed batch already includes your active bonuses, scaling it does not justify applying those bonuses again. A linear estimate remains an estimate; it does not establish every hidden rounding or capacity rule.

A useful promotion or healing check

  1. Confirm the action and eligible troop tier.
  2. Inspect exact batch count, resources and time.
  3. Check capacity and the current bonus state.
  4. Keep a recovery reserve for the next planned fight.
  5. Compare actual event scoring separately when promotions are part of the plan.

Before you commit

  • Correct action and tiers recorded.
  • Comparable troop batch and bonus state checked.
  • Base versus adjusted mode chosen.
  • Capacity and available resources checked.
  • Mode-specific casualty rules read.

Common questions

Can I subtract T8 training cost from T9 to price promotion?

That is not established as the exact Top Lords promotion rule. The site uses observed promotion inputs instead of presenting the difference as a verified rate.
