Squad formation: front row, back row and Lord faction buffs

Use two front positions, three rear positions and the faction bonus you have actually unlocked.

The short answer

Build a usable front and back row, then check the faction bonus your available heroes produce. Lord can help match the formation bonus as a wildcard. That does not make every faction-restricted building, research or skill effect apply universally.

Build the front and rear around the fight

The squad has two front positions and three rear positions. Start with survival in front and damage or support behind it. Read actual skills: Ragnar’s passive specifically protects both front heroes, while Mulan’s active pressures the enemy rear row.

A larger faction bonus does not compensate automatically for an undeveloped hero in the wrong job. Compare the formation you can field, including levels, stars, skills and equipment.

What the faction percentages do and do not say

The listed bonus applies to HP, ATK and DEF in the formation system. It is not a percentage chance to win, and it does not include the whole value of skills or equipment. A less developed matching hero can still weaken a squad despite a larger formation bonus.

The reference places faction-bonus availability after the first Capital Siege. Confirm it is active in your kingdom before making a plan around it. Keep that unlock separate from the ability to place heroes in a squad.

Use Lord without changing its identity

Lord is one player character with a male or female appearance and your player-defined name. Its own faction identity is Lord. For the formation bonus, the wildcard can match the arrangement that gives the strongest available result.

That matching behavior is not evidence that Lord receives every Tribe-, Legion- or Ranger-only effect. Read each effect's scope. The site does not substitute a regular hero's skill or upgrade table for Lord's missing exact data.

A worked faction example

Three Tribe heroes plus two Legion heroes form a 3+2 arrangement for the recorded 10% HP, ATK and DEF bonus when that system is unlocked. Four Tribe heroes plus Lord can use the wildcard to form a five-matching arrangement for the recorded 20% formation bonus.

That changes the formation calculation only. It does not establish that Lord receives every Tribe-only skill, research or building effect.

Check availability before building around a portrait

Use the recruitment information for the ticket or feature you can access now. A future preview is useful for recognizing a hero but does not make that hero a current squad option.

Keep Lord as one character. The male and female appearances use your player name; they are not two extra named heroes to place together.

Before you commit

  • Two front and three rear positions considered.
  • Only owned and available heroes selected.
  • Faction-bonus unlock checked.
  • Lord counted once.
  • Faction-restricted effects read separately.

Common questions

Does Lord belong to Tribe, Legion or Ranger?

Its own faction is Lord. The recorded formation behavior lets it act as a wildcard for the formation bonus. That does not establish every faction-restricted effect as applicable.
