City capture: declarations, contribution and City Lord tasks

How declarations, capture contribution and City Lord tasks work in Top Lords.

The short answer

Plan a legal, connected target and enough participation to hold the required score. The final hit alone does not decide ordinary city ownership. Check declaration authority, adjacency, unlocks, slots and the live counter before moving.

Can your alliance declare on this city?

An R4 or R5 must make or schedule the declaration. With no city, the base rule starts at an eligible level-one city; after that, a valid adjacent connection and an unlocked target level are needed. Losing the connecting city can break the route.

Check city slots, remaining declarations, camp slots, protection and an existing active declaration. The collected configurations show different daily allowances, so use the live counter. Canceling does not refund the declaration.

City levels, defenses and appointment slots

These are reference NPC and durability settings. The recommended strength column is a reference label, not a battle guarantee. A valid declaration and enough contribution are still required.

Contribution decides ownership, not the final hit alone

The recorded ordinary-city score gives one alliance point per 100 damage to defending troops and five per durability removed. At zero durability, the highest-scoring alliance captures the city.

Prepare enough participation throughout the operation rather than relying on a final hit. The NPC strength recommendation is not a guarantee that the attacking formations can do the required work.

After capture: appoint before expecting tasks

The city needs a City Lord before Knights can issue decrees and tasks. The reference allows one City Task per city weekly, and each member can complete up to six weekly. City Tasks and City Lord shop stock reset Monday 00:00 server time.

Changing the City Lord does not refresh the weekly stock. The special City Lord reward rule also has its own six-weekly-claim limit and does not create City Funds. Check ordinary task rewards and special appointment rewards separately.

Plan the scoring work and the fallback

Use the recorded damage and durability scoring rule when discussing contribution. Do not promise ownership to the player who plans the final hit. If another alliance is competing, compare your actual ability to contribute throughout the operation.

Name the leader, rally participants, reserves and the fallback target. Give coordinates and server time. If the route depends on another capture, list that as a prerequisite rather than presenting the destination as ready.

Before you commit

  • Live declaration conditions checked.
  • Connected route confirmed.
  • Scoring and participation planned.
  • Fallback and reserves named.
  • Ownership and City Lord follow-up updated.

Common questions

Does the last hit capture the city?

The recorded ordinary-city rule awards ownership to the highest-scoring alliance when durability reaches zero. The final hit alone does not establish the winner.
